We certainly found a family paradise! Smack bam in the heart of Central Queensland - well to be geographically correct the Mackay and Whitsundays Region. Airlie Beach is a lively coastal town located in between Townsville and Mackay and is largely seen and used as the gateway to the Whitsunday islands. So perhaps against the norm, we chose Airlie Beach as our primary holiday destination and there's a reason why! With a young family of three boys under 4, our holiday criteria has somewhat changed from the pre-kids simplistic book flights, accommodation and go mentality! Now it revolves around the selecting a holiday where the kids have so much fun that they tire themselves out so we can have a few hours together before it starts all over again. it's nearly impossible to find a holiday resort you will find this incredible fun filled, thrill seeking, kids haven! There's a reason The Big4 Adventure Whitsunday Resort is two time Australian and 7 time Queensland Tourism Award Winner was awarded the multi tourism award winner, you will NOT find a more family-friendly resort that caters for every taste and budget! They really left no stone unturned with this one..

Accommodation type

Big4 Adventure Whitsundays Resort offers multitude of accommodation options, from setting up your tent to living out of your caravan/motorhome to making yourself at home in a 1, 2 or 3 bedroom fully furnished cabins, there is something for everyone!
We chose one of the newly built fully self contained 2 bedroom, 2 bathroom cabins and wow was it on point! Firstly, There was soooooo much room everywhere even for our 3 boys (4 and under) the living room was huge! It was beautiful. The rooms were bright and fresh filled with beautiful coastal decor, if you are anything like me this all adds to the holiday experience. We spent a lot of time on our large balcony which overlooked the animal farm.. if you are animals lovers, then this condo is a must!

Activites

Big4 Adventure Whitsundays Resort really is one large fun park. Choosing between which pool to swim in or which of the 13 waterslides your kids are dragging you down next will just be the start of your day before you choose to challenge the family to a game of tennis, mini golf, pedal karts or finding your inner child to jump on the huge jumping pillows. Then when its time for a bit of down time you can check out what's showing that night on the outdoor cinema or a poolside massage. As mentioned above, the animal farm definitely one of my boys favourite. here you will find goats, cows, chicken, geese and the beautiful lady that comes and feeds the animals each morning allows a few kids at a time to help her with her morning feeding/cleaning routine. My boys absolutely LOVED waking up knowing this was how their day was starting.
